8 th: Finally I visited Golden Triangle where is the border of Thailand, Myanmar and Laos.
On the way I stopped at the Hall of Opium Golden Triangle.

And now…, heading to south, going back to Malaysia!

今回の旅の目的地ゴールデントライアングルへ到着。メコン川を境にタイ、ミャンマー、ラオスの三国が隣接する場所。かつてアヘンの産地と知られている。アヘン博物館に寄り、いよいよ旅の折り返し、今度は南へ南へと走ります。

Driving to Phitsanulok. This town has a lot of historical places to see. I’ll come back here again, unfortunately there was no time to stay longer here this time.

本日の宿はピッサヌローク。多くの史跡が残るこの町をゆっくりと散策したいものですが…。今回は時間がないので宿泊のみ。

9 th: Heading south back to home, another 1200km++…
Stay at Hua Hin tonight…
クアラルンプールまで残り1,200km。
ひたすら運転頑張る!　今夜のお宿はホアヒン。
リゾート地でのんびりする間もなく…。

10 th: My Jimny had a minor problem, need to fix it at Surat Thani. This town has beautiful nature and temples. Definitely come back again!

愛車ジムニーにちょっとしたトラブル発生。町の修理工場で直してもらう。スラートターニーは自然も豊で歴史のある町。みどころがたくさんありそうです。ここは絶対にまた来たい町。

11 & 12 th: Kept driving and driving!
Reached the border, but I was too tired to cross it. I didn’t want to drive at night as well. I decided to rest first, crossed the border next day.
Then, finally reached to my sweet home, well done my Jimny the 5,000km++ road trip!

この日もひたすら運転運転‼　国境の町サダオに着いたものの、長旅の疲れもあるし、夜中運転するのも嫌だし…。ということで、ここで一泊、もう一息。
こうして12日間のロードトリップを終え無事にクアラルンプールの我が家に帰宅。
僕の相棒ジムニーは5,000km以上を走り抜きました‼

Drove more than 5,000km.
Total petrol spent in Thailand and Malaysia is RM2,300.

5 th: When I visit Bangkok, I must go to this Khao Man Gai shop. After the delicious chicken rice, I drove up all the way to north. It’s small but historical town…
バンコクに来たら必ず訪れるカオマンガイの店でランチ。両親と別れてて北へ北へとひたすらドライブ。長い歴史をもつ静かな町、タークまでやってきました。

6th: Towards to Chiang Mai. Arrived Chiang Mai in the afternoon. Had a quick lunch and then went to the famous temple on the hill, Wat Phra That Doi Suthep. I heard that many successful politicians and businessman came here to pray every year. Later on, i went to a village nearby for a walk, there are many handcrafts souvenirs shop around and selling in reasonable price. At night, i went to the Old City of Chiang Mai for some good foods.

タークを発ち、午後チェンマイに到着した。パパッと昼食を済ませ、チェンマイの丘の頂上にあるワット プラタート・ドーイステープへ。ここは政治家やビジネスマンが毎年参拝にくる寺院なんだそう。その付近にあるモン族の村を散策。伝統工芸品や土産物などをリーズナブルな価格で販売。おいしい夕食を求めてチェンマイの旧市街を散策して一日を終えた。

7 th: Drove up to the Northern Most of Thailand, Mae Sai.
On the way there, I stopped at Thaweesin Hot Spring.

タイ最北端の町メーサイへ向けてチェンマイを出発。
途中で立ち寄ったタウィーシン天然温泉はダイナミック!

White Temple called Wat Rong Khun in Chiang Rai.
一度訪れてみたかった白亜の寺院、ワット・ロンクン。

Lunch at Chiang Rai town.
チェンライでお昼ごはん。

Blue temple, Wat Rong Sua Ten. This temple was built by an apprentice of the artist who built the white temple.
ワット・ロンスアテン（ブルーテンプル）は、先ほどのホワイトテンプルを手掛けたアーティストの弟子が建てたものらしい。

Finally arrived to the northern most of Thailand town, Mae Sai.
Mae Sai is the northern town which connected to Myanmar by a land route.

タイ最北端の町メーサイへ到着‼
唯一ミャンマーまで陸路でつながる小さいながらも賑やかな町でした。

Last Chinese New year (2023), I’d done a road trip with my family, KL – Surat Thani – Chumphon – Prachuap Khiri Khan – Hua Hin – Bangkok – Ranong – Phuket – Krabi – Trang – Hat Yai – KL.

Total driving distance was 3,523km (Thailand 2500km, Malaysia 1000km).
It was so much fun, I decided to do it again…, but with a crazier idea this time, driving to the northern most of Thailand and the Golden Triangle…

This is how my solo road trip began…

2023年のチャイニーズニューイヤー、僕は家族と一緒にバンコクまでのロードトリップをしました。KL→スラートターニ→チュムポーン→プラチュワップキーリーカン→ホアヒン→バンコク→ラノーン→プーケット→クラビ→トラン→ハジャイ→KLというルートで3,523km走行。
毎年、車でタイ南部を旅しているけれど、もっともっと北へ行ってみたいと思ったのです。

こうして今回の旅が始まりました。

Chinese New Year 2024, I did solo trip with my classic Jimny (Suzuki SJ413, Manual Car).

1 & 2nd days: Driving distance: 1,154km

I left KL very late and reached to the border immigration at 4am, it was crazy pack with people….

チャイニーズニューイヤー2024、今回は1人旅。
相棒はジムニー（Suzuki SJ413, マニュアル車）です。
深夜クアラルンプールを出発し、タイとの国境があるクダ州のブキッ・カユ・ヒタムに着いたのは早朝4時。イミグレーションが開くまで2時間の仮眠をとった。長期休暇の初日ということもあり、たくさんの車と人であふれていた。

Crossed the border, I had a breakfast Jok which is Thai style porridge, my favorite~!
Kept driving to the north and I stayed a night in Thap Sakae.

国境を無事に越え朝ごはん。僕の大好物、タイのお粥ジョーク。
北に向かって運転続行。この日のお宿はタップサカエ、クアラルンプールから1,154km北上した。

3 rd: Driving distance: 350km
Drove towards to Bangkok to see my parents.
バンコクに向けて出発‼　チャイニーズニューイヤーの休暇をバンコクで過ごす両親に合流。束の間の親孝行です。

4 th: Sightseeing with my parents and nice caught up with my Thai friend.
親孝行ツアー、バンコク市内を観光。
タイの友人とも久しぶりの再会。
