Reporting about 24 Hours Nürburgring, held on 1-2nd June 2024.
Our boss, William Chong also participated in it with Japanese Drivers, Mr. Ito and Mr. Mitsuhashi, which was the same member as the qualifying in April.
ニュルブルクリンク24時間耐久レース 2024が、6月1～2日にかけて開催され、弊社ボスも参戦してきました!
4月予選と同じく、チームメイトは日本人ドライバーの伊藤選手と三觜選手。
Nürburgring is one of the fascinating circuit in the world, on the other hand it’s as known as ”Green Hell”.
The 24 hours endurance race take place in the Nordschleife (mountain side) and GP track, their total lengths are about 25km per lap.
A long Nordschleife “North loop” track has about 20.8km, the Grand Prix race track has about 5.1km.
It’s said that Nordschleife consists more than 170 corners with the narrow width, more than 300 meters of elevation change from its lowest to highest points.
That’s the reason, it’s called as ”Green Hell” by the drivers.
Mean while, It’s known as the place for the car manufacturers to test their cars because of this challenging course structure.
ニュルブルリンクはレーシングドライバーを魅了してやまないサーキットの一つ。約20.8kmにも及ぶ峠を走り抜く「北コース」と、約5.1㎞の「GPコース」、合わせて1周約25㎞を24時間走行し続け、その総周回数を競う過酷なレースがニュルブルクリンク24時間耐久レースだ。
「グリーンヘル」との異名をもつこのサーキットは、170以上のコーナーをもち、高低差が300mと起伏も激しい。狭くうねった多彩な難所を活かしたコースは、名だたる自動車メーカーの開発地としても使用されている。
観客は24万人だとか。いたるところでお祭り騒ぎ‼
The race started at 4pm, the weather was rainy.
This unpredictable weather caused a lot of serious accidents in the beginning of the race.
レースは午後4時に予定通りスタート。雨は降ったりやんだり。天候と路面状況が影響し、序盤から大クラッシュのオンパレード。
After 11pm the race was forced to stop due to thick fog…
23時を過ぎた時、濃霧のため赤旗。
レースは翌朝午前7時まで中止となった。
濃霧、暗い夜の2スティントを走った人。
大変。
Back to the circuit in the early morning 7am, still heavy fog around there.
午前7時、再びサーキットに戻るも霧は深まるばかり。
9:30am all the cars were announced to line up on the start grid again, and 1:30pm, finally resumed the formation laps with safety car.
However after 5 laps with safety car, the race ended.
Total racing time was just seven hours and 22 minutes, it’s shortest-ever Nürburgring 24 Hours.
We got the 6th place in the class, while 1/5th of the entrants failed even to finish.
We hope we can come back again for the better result.
午前9時半、グリッドに着くようアナウンスが流れるも、レースは中断のまま。午後1時半、セーフティーカー先導のもと、5周のフォーメーションラップが再開したが、霧は晴れずレースは中断となってしまった。
ニュルブルクリンク24時間耐久レース史上最短、実質レース時間7時間22分で終了。我々のチームはクラス6位で完走という結果だが、エントリー車の1/5が途中リタイアという状態。
チャンスがあれば、もっと良い結果を出せるよう再チャレンジしたいと思います。
残念でしたが、とても楽しい経験。これがニュルの厳しさなんだなぁと、改めて実感しました。また行きたい‼

60k/hセーフティーカー付きで5周＝125㎞走行。
体力も精神力も消耗しちゃう。
