9am, we left from our hotel in JB and drove to Tanjung Piai. Because yesterday we couldn’t get to The Southernmost Tip Of Mainland Asia… Their ticket counter close 4:30pm weekday, at that time yesterday we were still in Rengit town.
About 1 hour drive, we reached to there.
Walked along the mangrove forest, feel the sea breeze…
9am、ホテルを出発しTanjung Piaiまで一時間のドライブ。東南アジア大陸最南端ポイントへ。
昨日のうちにココを通過し、JBへ入りたかったのだが最南端ポイントはマングローブ園内にあり、ココは午後4時半が最終入園となるので間に合わなかったというわけです。
海風が清々しい、モーニングウォーク。
ですが、やはり南国、車に戻る頃には汗だくだく。
After the nature walk, we had a brunch at the road side restaurant. It seems very famous cafeteria. A lot of riders from different states came into there.
We ordered their signature coffee, Kopi Tengget, Roti Steam Geboo, Kuetiau Kebontang. Kopi O was quite bitter so we preferred it with susu.
森林浴と海風を満喫したらお腹が減った。
来る途中に賑わっていたロードサイドのお店に行ってみた。
有名店なのでしょうか。ほかの州からツーリングでやってきたライダーたちが、ベトナムコーヒーのようなものと、ランチパックのようなカヤ入りのパン、それにエビがのったクイティオを食べています。
我らもそれに倣い、同じものとOtak Otakを注文。
Kopi Tenggetのブラックは、思っていた以上に、ものすごく苦くてタジタジに。
コンデンスミルク入りの方が飲みやすいかと…。
Drove to Masai Johor to visit Ben’s Performance to see our buddy! They are our SPEEDMASTER SEA Pro Dealer in Johor. Ben-san welcomed us and he checked up our Jimny like a doctor! There is no problem, thank you Ben-san!!
On the way to Ben’s Performance, we dropped by Layang Layang Museum at Pasir Gudang. They have beautifull and traditional Layang Layang (Kite) from Malaysia and other countries.
I thought kite in Bahasa Malayu is ”Wau”.
They taught us ”Wau” is common way to call a kite in northern part of Malaysia.
Now I know that ”Layang Layang” and ”Wau” is the same:), be wiser than yesterday.
In addition, we call it ”Tako” in Japanese.
Near by the park, street lamp also Layang Layang shape~!
So cute!
JBの中心地から東へ橋を渡り、Ben’s PerformanceのBenさんに会いに行きました。Benさんは 弊社SPEEDMASTER SEAのジョホール正規ディーラー。優しい笑顔でおばはん’sとジムニーを迎えてくれました。まだ旅を初めて三日目ですが、ジムニーの検診をしてもらいました。
ドライブは大好きですが、車音痴な我々。
日本語で対応してくれるので本当に頼もしい。
いつもありがとう～！
その前に、寄り道したのがLayang Layang Museum。
ここではマレーシア伝統の凧について、実物をみながら歴史や作り方などを詳しく学ぶことができます。緻密な切り絵のような手法で作られた凧はどれも素敵。デザインの意味合いなども説明があり、ふむふむ勉強。
ところで、マレー語で凧は「Wau」というと思っていたのですが、ココでは「Layang Layang」。どちらも凧に変わりないのですが、「Wau」は、北部での呼称なんですって。
博物館付近の街灯もLayang Layang の形ですよ。
Back to JB old town, we visited Johor Bahru Chinese Heritage Museum. We also plan to go to Indian Heritage Center which is located Arulmigu Rajamariamman Devasthanam but unfortunately it’s closed already.
We bought our favorite banana cake at Hiap Joo Bakery and Biscuit factory. Bought butter cookie at Salahuddin Bakery. These are our breakfast for tomorrow.
JBのオールドタウンに戻り、Johor Bahru Chinese Heritage Museuｍを見学。ヒンドゥー寺院Arulmigu Rajamariamman Devasthanam内に新しくできた資料館にも行きたかったけど、残念ながら間に合わず本日は閉館。またJBに来るきっかけができたかなぁ…？

Do you know about Kacang Pool? It is well known dish in JB… Finally we tasted it~~!
Wah…, it is too delicious I’ve ever tasted like this comfort food!!
It is taste like western high class beef stew. Meat soup with beans, fresh eschalots, chilis and lime, and egg on top. Eat it with thick slice of toast.
I’ll miss JB because of Kacang Pool…, it’s true!!
本日のハイライト～～!
Kacang PoolっていうJBの名物料理をご存じでしたか。
我々は今回初めて食べたのですが…。
これが衝撃的においしかったのであります!!
高級西洋料理店で出てきそうな（←行ったことないし知らんけど）ビーフシチューのような味わい。肉のだしとクタクタに煮たお豆さん。とろっと温かいスープに、生のエシャロットとチリとライム。真ん丸な目玉焼きがちょこんとのって、分厚いトーストといただきます。このトーストも外はサックリ、中はもっちりだけど柔らかい。とんでもないパン発見したで～！
朝食から夜食まで、いつでも食べられるコンフォートフード。
Kacang PoolのためだけにJBに来たいほど‼‼
After the meal, we visited beautiful Arulmigu Sri Rajakaliamman Glass Temple which Ben-san mentioned us. We were there at auspicious time at 7pm.
We could see their prayer time.
Today we explored a bit of JB. What I learnt is….
JB has steep road everywhere and a bit more complicated than KL for me.
It was very hard, I need to skill up my driving technic more… hahaha…
おいしい軽食の後に、ベンさんが教えてくれたArulmigu Sri Rajakaliamman Glass Templeへ。
7:30amと7pmにあるお祈りの時間に行くことができました。拝観料（撮影込み）で一人RM10。
明日もいい日になりますように。
ところで、本日はJBだけをドライブしたのですが。JBって坂道が多すぎる～～！ ほいで、なんだか道が広すぎ、うねりすぎ。車もバイクもミサイルみたいに飛んでくるし、私にはムズい!!
そんな走行していないのに精神的に疲労困憊なのである。
